AGM 2017

17th July 2017

All of JLES came together this weekend for our AGM, and what an event! It was an early start for everyone to set off for some well-deserved Rest and Relaxation time (and even a sing-song on the coach from our newbies!) before jumping straight into our review of 2016.

Paul Tomlinson, Group Director, began with a general review of the year at a Group level including profit history, turnover and the Regional league table.

This year also saw the return of the infamous Jon’s Joke, a tradition that is well-loved by all staff (he didn’t disappoint either!). Then came the regional reviews from our Board of Directors as well as some of our Divisional Managers. Jon rounded up the regional reviews with his take on last year’s performance, as well as some special thanks to the Group business support team who provide the day-to-day administrative, financial and customer service support to all of our regions. Well done, team!

It was then Paul’s turn again for the awards section. We love rewarding our staff for what they do, but as the business grows it’s so difficult to pick just one. That’s why the Board agreed that ALL regions deserved the Region of the Year award, especially after the major restructure last year.

The awards were later drawn to a close by the 10 Year Service award for both Luke Barry and Bradley Hewitt, Divisional Managers of our North West and Southern regions respectively. Both started out in their careers as part of our Assistant Project Engineer apprenticeship scheme and have worked determinedly throughout the last 10 years to get where they are today. It’s also reassuring to our new wave of apprentices that the promotion potential is there if they work hard. Their dedication has paid off and is shown in their handling of their respective regions – congratulations guys!

Huge props to our staff for coming together and for all of their hard work on a daily basis. And finally, a huge thank you to our fantastic clients. Without them, this company wouldn’t where it is today, and we are so grateful for all of their support.
